Smart Shoppers Saves Money in Economic Downturn

January 30, 2009 by mikedif

fandango2With the economic downturn of our economy everyone is looking to save money. For the frugal shopper who wants to continue to enjoy the finer things in life eBay it your ticket. There are many ways you can save hundreds of thousands of dollars by using eBay for everyday items you currently purchase at supermarkets, department stores and malls. In fact, you can save a bundle on your entertainment budget by purchasing movie tickets through eBay. For example, the average price of one ‘evening’ movie ticket is $12.00. If you take a date to the movies the total cost, just for tickets, is $24.00 (not including tax). By using eBay you can purchase the same movie tickets for about $10.00. The $14.00 you saved can be used for popcorn and soda (man those consession stands are expensive!). Most movie tickets sold on eBay are through Fandango so the transaction is safe and secure. Here is how the process works once you receive the Fandango product code from the eBay Seller:

  1. Go to www.fandango.com
  2. Select the theater and showtime
  3. Enter the number of tickets
  4. ->> Click the box to indicate that you have a promo code<<-
  5. Sign into fandango.com or create a new account
  6. Enter the promo code and click “Apply”
  7. Print the ticket or bring confirmation code to ticket box office to pick-up tickets

It’s that simple to save money using eBay. Enjoy the Movie and Save!

controversial Sarah Palin Mannequin Sold for $2,247.22 or did it?

January 24, 2009 by mikedif

palinThe controversial Sarah Palin Mannequin which was hung by a noose from West Hollywood residents ChadMichael Morrisette and his partner Mito Aviles houses sold on eBay Thursday for $2,247.22; or did it?.

In October of 2008 the mannequin, ChadMicheal and Mito were thrust into the media spotlight when they attached a noose around the mannequin’s neck and hung it from their roof. The exhibit drew gawkers and public condemnation but was allowed to stay on display because of the First Amendment to the United States of America (the First Amendment expressly prohibits laws that infringe the freedom of speech and infringe the freedom of the press). Although I do not agree with violence, violent art or violent political views I do agree with The First Amendment which also protects me to express my thought on the noose hanging Palin mannequin creators.

ChadMichael Morrisette and his partner Mito Aviles are a couple of dumb-asses!

P.s. according to the Los Angeles Times the winning bidder is pulling out of the sale.

Birds Eye View Inauguration Day Satellite Image GeoEye Google

January 21, 2009 by mikedif

Below is the first satellite image of the inauguration taken at 11:19 AM EST Tuesday by the GeoEye-1 satellite. The satellite image was taken from 423 miles up in space. The GeoEye is the same satellite that supplies Google with images for Google Maps and Google Earth. All those clumps of people between the Washington Monument and the Capitol are clustered around Jumbotron screens to watch Barack Obama take the oath of President of the United States. The Inauguration was a historic event and some people are experiencing Barack-o-mania. On eBay you can find Barack Obama items such as Comic Books, Posters, Gold Coins, Official Inauguration invitations, used Inauguration tickets and even a Barack Obama signed MLB Baseball.

What is your prediction of how many people in attendance? 800,000… 2 Million?!? The closest guess will get an Official “eBay Addiction” T-Shirt. : )
